Local Focus
Hope Church's desire is to impact the community around us. As we see in the Gospels, one profound thing Jesus consistently did was love hurting people. As those who represent Him today, we want to love with as much power as He did.
Meeting needs without the gospel is not meeting needs at all. Therefore, we want to love those who are hurting and in need by meeting physical needs, as well as by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. In order to make as large of an impact as possible, we have chosen to focus on one main area as our local missions focus: human sex trafficking.
Mission
The mission of Hope Church's sex trafficking ministry is to intervene on behalf of the desolate, those who are currently victims of this modern day slavery, those at risk of becoming victims, as well as the victimizers, by giving them HOPE of rescue, restoration and salvation in Jesus Christ.
Statistics
1. There are more people enslaved today than at any point in history. 80% of these slaves are sex slaves.
2. The average age of a victim entering into sex trafficking is 12.
3. Houston is ranked among the largest three hubs for human trafficking in the country, with Interstate 10 designated as the main route for traffickers by the Department of Justice.
